Flash tracking added to Google Analytics
19/11/2008
Google Analytics users are now able to harness the tool to track traffic to Flash website pages.
The search engine announced at the Adobe MAX Conference in San Francisco earlier this week that it had partnered with Adobe and third-party developers to create Google Analytics Tracking for Adobe Flash.
Campaign, pageview and event tracking are all included in the new solution, with Flash-based content like embedded videos, widgets and microsites now able to be analysed.
Developers can also add to and refine the code for Google Analytics Tracking for Adobe Flash if they wish.
Nick Mihailovski, analytics specialist at Google, said in a blog post that the new tool aimed to solve the problem of a lack of out-of-the-box Flash tracking and few standards.
He stated: "With this launch, tracking your Flash content has never been simpler."
According to E-consultancy, the UK market for web analytics technology and services will grow by 12 per cent to reach £78 million by the end of this year.
